22555VIC Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy

 

This course will teach you more about reading, writing, numbers, time and measurement so that you can do your job well, no matter where you work. It will also help you in your home life and improve your confidence in living independently.

When you complete this course you can apply for entry level work in a wide variety of supported and open roles.

The course involves: 11 units of competency

Applicants for this program will have a permanent cognitive impairment or intellectual disability.

Previous experience: No previous experience is required.

Assessment: Your assessment might include questions and answers, demonstrations and observations, practical exercises and role play. We’ll make sure that you’re given every possible chance to succeed.

Pathways: When you successfully complete this course you can enrol in another program, such as a Certificate I in Transition Education or Certificate I in Work Education. You can go on to work in supported or open employment. Importantly, you’ll have new confidence and skills that will help you to do better in your daily life.

Length: 9 months

Before you enrol you’ll need to:

  • successfully complete a pre-course interview with us
  • be a post-compulsory school age learner
  • be keen to work at Brite.
