CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support has been designed for those who intend to work in Aged Care (residential and community) and Disability who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered care to people who may require support due to ageing or disability.
Students may choose to focus on an area of specialisation that provides skills and knowledge to effectively provide person-centered individualised support to older people and those with a disability to ensure they have fulfilling lives in which they can reach their potential. You will learn how to contribute as a team member in a home and community care environment or residential care setting and meet individualised and personal support needs. You will gain a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.
Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for your own outputs within the scope of your job role and delegation. You will work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Candidates seeking to undertake this course must have:
- National Police Check – on commencement of this course all candidates are required to c complete /have a current National Police Check within 6 months.
- Immunisation Evidence – Students are required to provide current Immunisation evidence prior to enrolment, i.e. influenza and COVID-19 vaccination in line with current Government Health Department guidelines, or a requirement of the employer.
- Course applicants must complete a Literacy, Numeracy (LLN Robot) test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels are met for the course.
- Pre-training interview with education staff required prior to enrolment.
