This course will prepare you for another training course or for a job. You’ll become more independent and understand a lot more about what courses are available to you.

When you complete this course you’ll have knowledge about the best option for you in the future – it could be employment, more training or volunteer work. We’ll help you work out how to take the next step.

The course involves: 10 units of competency (6 core, 4 elective)

Applicants for this program will have a permanent cognitive impairment or intellectual disability.

Previous experience: No previous experience is required.

Assessment: Your assessment might include questions and answers, demonstrations and observations, practical exercises and role play. We’ll make sure that you’re given every possible chance to succeed.

Pathways: When you successfully complete this course you can enrol in another program, such as a Certificate I in Work Education. You can go on to work in supported or open employment. Importantly, you’ll have new confidence and skills that will help you to do better in your daily life.

Length: 18 months

Before you enrol you’ll need to:

  • successfully complete a pre-course interview with us
  • be a post-compulsory school age learner.
