When you complete this course, you’ll become more independent and understand a lot more about what courses are available to you. This course will prepare you for another training course or for a job.

Assessment: Your assessment might include questions and answers, demonstrations and observations, practical exercises, and role play. We’ll make sure that you’re given every possible chance to succeed.

Applicants for this program will have a permanent cognitive impairment or intellectual disability.

Length: 12 months

The course is comprised of 10 units:

  • 6 core units
  • 4 electives

Pathways: When you successfully complete this course you can enrol in another program, such as a vocational course in your preferred career field. You can go on to work in supported or open employment. Importantly, you’ll have new confidence and skills that will help you to do better in your daily life.

No previous experience is required, but we do suggest students entering the Certificate I in Work Education have completed Certificate I in Transition Education.

Before you enrol you’ll need to:

  • successfully complete a pre-course interview with us
  • successfully complete a LLN assessment
  • be a post-compulsory school age learner.
