CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing/Disability stream)

 

CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) course provides the skills and training necessary to fulfill a care role in disability and other person-centred support settings. The units of study provide students with foundational skills and knowledge to work in the disability and home and community care industry. Students learn to work with individuals to support their independence and wellbeing, in their homes or in community settings. This stream specialises in the Disability Support Worker role, equipping students with additional key skills specific to caring for people in a variety of settings.

In this course, you’ll learn how to provide physical and psycho-social support for people requiring support, including how to:

  • Support people who may be living with dementia and/or other illnesses or disabilities
  • Prevent falls
  • Support independence and well-being
  • Develop communication skills in health and community services
  • Work in residential care settings
