CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support will take you beyond the foundations of disability care, through to more advanced practices and leadership skills. This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, and work according to, and may contribute to, an individualised plan. This course is suited to those looking to gain the advanced skills necessary to apply for more senior roles in the disability sector. It prepares individuals to work without direct supervision and to supervise and/or coordinate a small team. Gain the skills you need to help people with a disability to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing.

Pre-requisite requirements:

Candidates seeking to undertake this course must hold or undertake pre-requisite qualifications, as detailed below:

  • Completion of: CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), OR
  • Completion of: CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), OR
  • Completion of: CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.

Candidates seeking to undertake this course must have:

  • National Police Check – on commencement of this course all candidates are required to c complete /have a current National Police Check within 6 months.
  • Immunisation Evidence – Students are required to provide current Immunisation evidence prior to enrolment, i.e. influenza and COVID-19 vaccination in line with current Government Health Department guidelines, or a requirement of the employer.
  • Course applicants must complete a Literacy, Numeracy (LLN Robot) test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels are met for the course.
  • Pre-training interview with education staff required prior to enrolment.
