Message from the CEO – August 2019

By August 29, 2019October 27th, 2021No Comments

Whilst it’s still a bit cold outside, it’s always great to see the first few daffodils pop up, signalling Spring is not too far away!

Whatever the weather, our team continues to do a tremendous job with both Plants and Pak teams creatively and pro-actively supplying our many customers. Our students are also doing great things across our wide range of training offerings – the recent cupcake fundraiser was a very tasty example!

With the day to day busyness, it is always worth pausing, and realising how remarkable it is that Brite has been delivering such strong training and employment outcomes for over 40 years. It is a credit to the passion and drive of Brite’s founding families; it also speaks to the strength of our community in realising such a vision.

The NDIS now offers our community the opportunity to take the next step towards a more inclusive society. Recent national employment statistics for people with disability demonstrate the ongoing need to innovate and challenge pre-conceptions of what an individual and their family, with the support of our community, can achieve.

The implementation of the NDIS raises some challenges, and perhaps concerns, for people with disability and their families; however, it also provides a wonderful opportunity to dramatically improve the lives of many Australians. As a community, we are committed to ensuring everyone is better off because of the NDIS; Brite’s founding families would expect nothing less of us. We will continue to work with our families to ensure we realise our shared aspirations for our community.

In closing, I hope you enjoy reading our latest newsletter. I’m sure you’ll agree there are plenty of positive outcomes to celebrate! A massive thank you to all our customers, colleagues, students, families, and friends for making Brite the exceptional place that it is.

Roll on Spring!

Nick
