What’s New At Brite

By July 1, 2024July 10th, 2024No Comments

Exciting things have been happening at Brite recently! From the launch of the Brite Café to the introduction of our new Series 2 Brike in Cairns, our efforts to create inclusive opportunities are in full swing. We’ve also introduced vibrant new stickers on select Brite Pak products, and had the honour of hosting the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn and Kathleen Matthews-Ward, MP, who visited to understand the impact of supported employment services.

These developments highlight our commitment to fostering a more inclusive society and supporting people with disability. Read on to find out more!

The Brite Cafe

In preparation for the launch of Brite Café, our team were hard at work restoring furniture and preparing the space. We’re proud to say that our efforts have been championing sustainability, including transforming a planter box into a high-top bench perfect for our future customers. Our refurbished espresso machine is also now in place, ready to brew delicious drinks.

We’re excited to announce that Brite Café officially opened its doors on 18th June 2024. The team is growing, with Jenelle a new café all rounder/barista and cook joining Courtney. Check out some photos from our launch party below!

Brite Stickers

What’s round and sticky? The new sticker featured on select Brite Pak products, of course! Our team is excited to introduce this vibrant addition, now appearing on Level Beverages at Woolworths.

The sticker showcases our Brite logo and our meaningful tagline: “Driving change for an inclusive society.”

A big thanks to the team for making this sticker look fantastic. Keep an eye out for it on your next shopping trip!

The Brike is Heading North

The Brike is heading north! We are thrilled to announce that our first-ever Series 2 Brike has been built and has been shipped to Cairns. Purchased by the Cairns Regional Council, the Brike will be available for hire, allowing people with disability to ride along the beautiful foreshore. This initiative is a significant step towards fostering inclusivity and ensuring everyone can enjoy the scenic beauty of Cairns.

Thanks to this purchase, more people in Cairns will now enjoy the added mobility and freedom that comes with riding a Brike. We are proud to support greater accessibility and inclusivity in such a picturesque location. A big thank you to the Cairns Regional Council for making this possible and championing the cause of mobility for all!

Some Special Visitors

The Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn, Minister for Children and Minister for Disability, along with Kathleen Matthews-Ward, MP and State Member for Broadmeadows, recently visited Brite. Their visit aimed to enhance their understanding of the challenges and successes associated with supported employment services.

During their visit, they met with our dedicated team and the incredible individuals we support, gaining valuable insights into our operations. Their interest and commitment to understanding the unique needs of supported employment are greatly appreciated. We look forward to continuing our work together to drive positive change and create more inclusive opportunities for people with disability in our community.
